These dangle earrings are comprised of Nacorazi and Sleeping Beauty turquoise. The Nacozari beads are approximately 12mm round. The smooth Sleeping Beauty rondelles and Nacozari round beads are hand wrapped with a sterling silver cube spacer separating the two.
The Nacozari turquoise was mined in Sonora, Mexico and closed in 2011. With the closing of the mine, Nacozari turquoise is getting increasingly harder to get and becoming highly collectible. The mine was located south of the Douglas, Arizona in the same mountain range that Bisbee turquoise is from. Nacozari turquoise is a vibrant sky blue color with very little dark matrix in it, with some lighter, or whitish matrix.
The sterling silver earrings are oxidized to add depth, definition and interest. Oxidizing is a process that is used to create an effect similar to antiquing or artificially tarnishing metal jewelry. At btwisted we use a variety of patinas on many of our pieces.
Don’t miss out on this gemstone sterling silver one-of-a-kind original btwisted masterpiece. The dangles hang down approximately 2.5 inches from the unique sterling silver French ear wires and weigh less than 4 grams making them extremely comfortable to wear.
These are handmade one-of-a-kind earrings that are sure to draw compliments whenever worn.

Note: This turquoise is stabilized. This stabilization process does NOT use any dyes. Stabilization is done in order to maintain the beautiful color of the turquoise and harden the stone. Turquoise changes color over time because it gradually absorbs oils from the skin as it is worn and as it comes into constant contact with the natural elements.
