This one of a kind necklace features the rarest of rare, hammered Mandarin garnet. This is most vibrant Mandarin I have come across in the past 9 years. I’ve had these incredible natural untreated Mandarin garnets for many years and feel it’s time to share the beauty.
This necklace is comprised of 34 rare hammered Mandarin gemstones approximately 8 x 8mm, all hand wrapped creating a gemstone chain. Scattered between the garnets are hammered natural sapphires as well as a 12 x 12mm pave sapphire sterling silver bead giving this piece a tropical feel.
The sterling silver is oxidized to add depth, definition and interest. Oxidizing is a process that is used to create an effect similar to antiquing or artificially tarnishing metal jewelry. At btwisted we use a variety of patinas on many of our pieces.
These are all natural gemstones with no treatment to the Mandarin garnet; however like most, the sapphires have been heated to enhance the color and clarity.
